Sara,
I just read your article in The Old Schoolhouse. What a blessing to have such a neighbor and be able to share in his heritage. Your children are learning so much from this special relationship. I'm sure your dear neighbor is being blessed as well by your sweet family so nearby.
May God richly bless you all!

I just read your article in TOS and was moved to tears. Living across the country from family allows me to see the brevity of life. Seems kind of contradictory, but when my parents come for their annual visit, I'm able to see the aging process more clearly than my sisters and brother who live close by and just see gradual changes. As sad as it makes me feel that one day I will have to bury my parents, and that eventually my children will lay my husband and I to rest, like you I'm thankful that it's only a temporary absence. Blessed by your words,
Erica
